The Ghosts of 1900Submitted by necol66 on Thu, 09/02/2010 - 06:13 |
Hey Paul
Well, I've just gone and listened to the 2nd short story in the 'Fiends' collection and I really like it.
In fact, so far, this is my favourite - of course that all may change when I listen to more! Yeah, old houses with dark, dank basements and dusty attics - they have character and style, as well as providing an overactive imagination with plenty of scope for creating horror stories! And closets, cupboards, creaky floorboards, the wind whistling through the cracks, long grass in the back garden, a ramshackle outhouse, mysterious figures glimpsed behind grimy windows - oh, do I need to go on?
Modern houses don't have any character! Oh, and my house is 80 years old - not as old as The Victorian but better than the new kind!
I read a book about the drowning of Galveston and it was a bad storm. The city might very well have went on to bigger things if the storm had not occurred.
Excellent story sir.
